“Stranded” floppy disks, what now?

December 10, 2008

I awake from a slumber and find NO 5.25″ or 3.5″ floppy disk drives in my possession, and resent having to pay money for a service or bit of hardware. Can anyone copy my ~ten 3.5″ and ~five 5.25″ floppies to… well… a .zip file, one directory each, and email it to me? Please?

I’ve got a 3.5″ drive. I’m fresh out of 5.25″ drives tho… But, you do know you can get the 3.5″ drive for about $4 or so, don’t you? I know it’s a waste, but it may even be cheaper than mailing them to my own personal armpit of the country Metro Detroit…

(is html code allowed in comments? I guess I’ll find out right now)

Thank you, Josh. I may have to take you up on that. Could you please email me your address?

But beyond that, it looks like the 5 1/4″ers are the tricky part. Men from the boys. Hm.

    Hey Craig —
I saw this today and thought of you immediately, and I don’t have your email address, so:

Your ideas are more workable and more useful, but the drawing in panel three made me do a spit take.
